Music City Fun or Titan Up Your Piehole

My first (and pretty much only) meal in Nashville; half slab of ribs with Mac-and-Cheese and smoked green beans from Peg Leg Porker

Nashville is now on my list of future resident cities.  What a place!  Delicious BBQ, great music everywhere, and friendly people.  The number of people I met that actually lived there remains to be seen, but overall Music City USA passed the litmus test.

First let me introduce my partners-in-crime for this trip, Joel and Jessica (with a special guest appearance from Jimmy Haslam. Unfortunately, I slept in just a few minutes too late and missed him at the tailgate party.) They were driving down to meet their family in Tennessee and allowed me to tag along for the ride.

After grabbing that delicious BBQ, we stopped by The Dawg House Saloon, official bar of the Middle Tennessee Browns Backers Club.  The sign says it best.

On Saturday Night, with the help of the Middle Tennessee Browns Backers, Ohio took over Tequila Cowboy on Broadway.  Chants of OH-IO and Here We Go Brownies! rang out throughout the evening.

The highlight of my night was getting to shake the hands of Ernest Byner and Kevin Mack. One of my first football memories was watching these guys rush for 1000 yards each in 1985 so to meet them in person was a real treat and pretty much made my weekend.  Thanks guys!

Sunday morning we started the party early, loading up the lot with Browns fans.

A good friend of mine from Salt Lake made the trip with his family and the Browns edition Bud Light cans made an appearance too.

Of course the Titans edition cans were there too..

..and for that reason, I always pack protection.

Browns fans were all over the stadium and as far as I'm concerned, those empty seats counted for us too.

At halftime we met up to rally the Cleveland fans.

So you're saying there's a chance...

Alas, it wasn't enough as the Titans fans left the stadium as victors.

My Takeaway: Although the Browns fans showed up in force, the energy level seemed to be lacking.  In my Section where there were a good lot of them, I tried to get some cheers started, but no one seemed to care.  I understand that it's hard to rally behind a win-less team, but it was disappointing nonetheless and I hope to see the opposite happen for at least one of the remaining four road games.

This trip was a blast!  I'd like to thank Ernie Nagy and his crew with the Middle Tennessee Browns Backers Club for setting up all of the festivities and group tickets.  Also, shout out to Meleighsa and Jimmy from Crazy Town and Tequila Cowboy respectively for taking care of our less-than-sober selves.

Next week we travel to Cincinnati (this face explains it all.)

The Airbnb spot that I booked just outside of downtown Nashville was a great deal.  If you're travelling, use this link, www.airbnb.com/c/vincec1302, to get $35 in travel credit (and hook me up, too!)

I also used Uber and Lyft to get me around town. If you haven't already tried these services, use these promo codes to get credits towards a free ride:
