Getting Ready or Three Weeks Until Kickoff
I really enjoy watching How It's Made. You get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to put together some of the coolest things. I was hoping that this blog would be more like that show, but I've come to the realization that it is not that kind of show. However, as the preseason has gotten underway and the season nears, my excitement grows. Once the season starts, this will become a showcase of the Browns Nation, the comraderie amongst strangers, and the celebration of hope amidst a history of disappointment.
I have contacted at least one Browns Backers group from each away city and I may put some feelers out in the Cleveland area to see what trips are being planned as well. Most clubs are planning something and all were welcoming for me to visit.
Top 2 trips for which I'm most excited: Miami and Tennessee. My flight is already booked and game ticket has been purchased for Miami, plus they have a bus lined up for the game and some pre-game festivities planned. Tennessee is similar with a possible Browns Alum showing the Saturday before and they plan on packing a few bars to capacity with fans.
Top 2 most disappointing trips thus far: Washington DC and Pittsburgh. Neither club has plans on attending or really doing anything for the game, but they both offered to have me join them at their respective backer bars to watch the game. Pittsburgh, however, gets a reprieve with a valid point as their game is Week 17 and with the recent history of the Browns..."well, what's the point" is what I got from them. That's understandable. I went through the same thing four years ago when they played on my birthday and I wanted to take the trip, but was convinced to watch them lose from the comforts of my local watering hole. At that time, it was a good call, but this season you'll be hard pressed to convince me otherwise, especially if I make it to the first 15 games.
Thank you for your viewership to anyone watching and stay tuned as there's more to come!
